Tax Changes 2021

PAYE Tax Rates and Thresholds all change from 6th April 2021

A lot changes, payroll-wise on 6th April every years. In addition to PAYE Tax Rates and Thresholds, some of the other changes include: new weekly figure for Statutory Sick Pay, the uplifting of L, M and N Tax Codes, new rates for the Minimum Wage, new statutory Maternity rate and more.

Year-end completion must be submitted by 19th April 2021.

Have you registered for Benefits in Kind through Payroll? Registration must be completed with HMRC by the end of March, ready for the start of the new tax year. If you need help preparing for the end of the Tax Year, or you have any questions, we’re here to help.

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH FURLOUGH?

Previously available until the end of April, furlough benefits have now been extended until the end of September 2021, with conditions.

Moving forward, from 1 July 2021, the level of grant will be reduced and you will be asked to contribute towards the cost of your furloughed employees’ wages. To be eligible for the grant you must continue to pay your furloughed employees 80% of their wages, up to a cap of £2,500 per month for the time they spend on furlough.

NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE!

National Living Wage age to be reduced to age 23 from April 2021. Are you ready for the changes and the impact to your company?

The National Living Wage will increase by 2.2 per cent from £8.72 to £8.91, and will be extended to 23 and 24 year olds, for the first time.
